Candor Central High School’s inspiring Technology Education Shop featured on Woodworking Network
Years ago, Candor Central High School technology teacher Stephen Lindridge had a vision. His vision was a state-of-the-art technology woodworking and metalworking shop. A shop full of possibilities – enabling him to teach the skills needed to set his students up for success and prepare them for future careers.
To realize his vision, Stephen devoted his time and energy into working with school administration and local businesses, as well as exploring funding options. Stephen’s efforts were not in vain.
Manual machines, such as milling machines and lathes were secured first. Stephen knew his next step was introducing CNC machines. He also knew that he needed the right CAD/CAM software. He wanted a software able to keep up with his imaginative students and progressive projects.
After exploring a few options, Stephen contacted us here at Allegheny Educational Systems and purchased Mastercam, a powerful CAD/CAM software able to offer practically limitless design opportunities. We were happy to set up Stephen’s Mastercam and assist in integrating it into his shop.
Today, his shop is equipped with a wide assortment of equipment and software. His students are developing confidence and skills that they will take with them into their future. And his success in realizing his vision has been recognized by a leading woodworking industry website and online magazine, Woodworking Network.
